Welcome to the July 2019 edition of Funding Strategies Connect!

"Building Relationships and Trust"

We continue to see demand from strategic investors for opportunities that add value to their company's operations, portfolios, or support their investment thesis. Typically they are looking for a product fit, access to new technologies or platforms or where there is a geography play (or just a good deal!). A number of our clients are currently in discussions with such investors and we would be hopeful a number of transactions will close over time. 

It is important to build relationships with investors and part of our role is to help navigate the "transactional issues" around concluding a transaction. We very much focus on building trust between the parties and decreasing completion risk. People buy of people and in the current environment it is important to be flexible and open to different deal structures and opportunities. 

So where do these investors come from? The chart below shows the investments by geography of our investors with the majority coming from Victoria followed by overseas investors. The majority of investments are made from companies / professional investors, followed by overseas investors.

It's been a very busy month for the team at Instant Consult! Not long after celebrating the Company's first birthday, they achieved their next milestones of over 1,000 consultations in June and raising $250k within hours of launching their capital raise. Congratulations!

Instant Consult Reaches Over 1,000 Doctor Consultations in a Month

"Instant Consult has reached over 1,000 successful consultations in the month of June 2019; making June the highest consult count since inception and set to be exceeded in July 2019.

Reviewing past consults to date, figures show 40% of successful consults through Instant Consult are by repeat users."

Instant Consult - Round 1 fully subscribed

"We are delighted to announce that Round 1 of our capital raise is now fully subscribed. After only announcing the raise last week, swift investors were quick to act to secure a piece of Instant Consult for themselves.

The first round of $250k has been raised to increase marketing expenditure, further platform development and working capital to expand the team."

 Welcome to the team, Alessandro!

Alessandro Costa has more than 15 years’ experience in financial analysis and consulting working in investment banking, private equity and real estate. During his years working at Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division in London, he worked on deals in the metals and mining sector. He also covered the retail and telecom sectors as part of his work in leveraging finance and private equity. 

Alessandro successfully raised and managed a residential real estate fund based in the UK and operating through Europe. Since then, he has focused on advising clients on M&A and business optimisation. His expertise includes M&A and corporate advisory, deal origination and closing, due diligence, structuring, financial modelling and reviewing legal documentation. Alessandro has a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from Babson College in Boston, and is due to complete a Master’s degree in applied finance at The University of Queensland in Brisbane.
