Welcome to the December edition of the Funding Strategies newsletter, the last one for 2019 and this decade!


It's been an eventful year for Funding Strategies and the team; as the year (and decade!) comes to an end, we are reflecting on the people we have worked with, successes celebrated and changes made - the biggest ones being our new website and logo! 

As the year comes to a close, we are seeing a strong increase in investor activity. We have closed a number of transactions and are in discussions with a number of strategic investors around finalising Terms Sheets for more of our clients. We therefore expect 2020 to be a stronger year around investment and we expect both business and consumer confidence to rise as the year progresses.

New Logo & 

Independent Testing of Algae Products

The upgraded pilot algae farm commenced operation of the new 65m x 12m pond in November this year to cultivate Nannochloropsis and harvest the new pond using the Liqoflux ultrafiltration system and the Evodos 25 centrifuge. 

There was a noticeable increase in productivity of algae (measured as grams of algae per square metre per day) in the new pond compared to that experienced using the original smaller ponds at the site. This, together with the improved harvesting process, led Qponics to commission independent analysis of the oil extracted from the dried paste and its protein-rich by-product.

Overcoming Cultural Differences

Cross Border M&A activity is increasing rapidly with 2020 widely expected to be a breakout year in Australia/Asia. However, the field remains littered with transactions where significant value was lost and the transactions did not perform because a major hurdle of the Cultural Differences were inadequately addressed.
