Dear Readers,

Welcome to the February 2020 edition of the Funding Strategies newsletter.

With all the “bad news” around the stock market and the COVID-19 ("coronavirus") we see increasing opportunities for investors with the Australian reserve bank interest rate being cut to 0.5% (read 'cheap money') and the low Australia dollar which has dropped to 65 cents from 70 cents in just a few months (read 'assets/products are getting cheaper for offshore buyers').

We specialise in private investor opportunities that are generally uncorrelated to movements in the stock market.  Many of these opportunities can provide good yields and/or growth returns (and sometimes yield and growth).

Please contact us for a confidential discussion around our investment opportunities.

This edition of our newsletter includes:

 Introducing Project Mella

"A world-first, closed-loop regenerative agribusiness producing therapeutic and medicinal honey for the local, national and global market"

  • Project Mella has developed a world first, closed-loop regenerative agribusiness producing therapeutic and medicinal honey for the local, national and global market.
  • Medicinal and therapeutic honey, referred to as ‘Manuka’, is measured by its dollar value and its health benefits via the amount of the molecule methylglyoxal (MGO) contained within. Manuka honey with MGO in excess of 500 mg/kg is regarded as medicinal and therapeutic. It has been shown to kill up to 80 different pathogenic bacteria, including ‘superbugs’. It is used in First Aid, burns and wound care, treating acne, skin infections, psoriasis, strep throat. At lower MGO levels it is good for gut health and general wellbeing.
  • Project Mella has developed a plantations model with selected high producing plants that provides an extended flowering period up to 8 months; against New Zealand's 2-3 week flowering cycle. The plantation is forecast to produce honey greater than MGO1000+.
  • The diversity in its high producing plants plus bee fodder plants with innovative, research based agricultural practices, lays Project Mella’s foundation for the sustainable, long-term production of medicinal honey while prioritising food security, creating pollinator havens, land regeneration, carbon capture and improved soil biomass.
